Brazilian sugar and ethanol major Cosan (NYSE: CZZ) will raise its sugarcane crush capacity at existing mills in order to meet increasing demand for ethanol and sugar, CFO Marcelo Martins told a conference call.

"We are now in the final stages of the harvest year, and we are already starting to make investments in existing units to raise crushing capacity. Cosan is also developing new acreage to be used for sugarcane planting," the executive said.
