* Deepwater port in Rocha on hold after Portucel sets up in Brazil - official - Uruguay

The creation of Portuguese pulp and paper firm Portucel Soporcel's subsidiary in Brazilian state Mato Grosso do Sul is likely to affect plans to develop a deepwater port in Uruguayan department Rocha, an official from the country's public works and transport ministry (MTOP) told BNamericas.

Up to now, Portucel was involved in a US$1bn initiative, submitted to Uruguayan authorities by Spanish firm Benel, to build a deepwater port in Rocha's La Paloma district.
