* Telefónica's profits up 22.2% in Q4 - Regional
Spanish telecoms giant Telefónica (NYSE: TEF) posted net profits of 2.44bn euros (US$3.31bn) for the fourth quarter of 2009, a 22.2% year-over-year increase, the company said in its latest earnings report.
Telefónica recorded revenues of 15.0bn euros in the fourth quarter, up 1.2% from 14.8bn euros in the year-ago quarter.
