* Quadra, SGID to form JV to develop Sierra Gorda copper project - Chile

Vancouver-based Quadra Mining (TSX: QUA) has signed an MOU with China's State Grid International Development (SGID) to create a JV aimed at developing and operating the former's Sierra Gorda copper project and the Franke copper mine in Chile, Quadra said in a release.

Under the terms of the agreement, each company will hold 50% of the JV. Quadra will contribute the Sierra Gorda and Franke assets, worth US$900mn, while SGID will contribute the same amount in capital, the release said.
