Shares in a Small Musical Pay
Off for 50 Years
The $330 that Marjorie Gray and her husband invested in the fledgling musical "The Fantasticks" in 1960 has returned about $80,000 so far, helping to put her children through college and paying for vacations. The low-budget show, with memorable songs such as "Try to Remember," is one of the most widely produced in the world and has yielded a total return of about 24,000% to its backers.
