* NII Holdings eyes US$850mn-900mn capex this year - Regional

NII Holdings (Nasdaq: NIHD) is forecasting capex of US$850mn-900mn for 2010, with most of that going into the company's 3G strategy, CFO Gokul Hemmady told an investors call on 2009 results.

In 2009 the company spent US$733mn mostly on network expansion in Brazil and in rolling out a 3G network in Peru. In the latter, some US$104mn was spent in Peru during the year and in 2008, with US$11mn covering roughly 17mn POPs (potential population coverage).
