* Tarucani developer wins legal battle, work could begin within a year - Peru

Construction of the 49MW Tarucani hydro project in Peru's Arequipa region could begin within a maximum of one year, an official from project developer S&Z Consultores Asociados told BNamericas.

The news follows a court decision ordering the energy and mines ministry to accept a project timetable modification request submitted in 2007 that the ministry did not entertain and subsequently voided the concession.
