* Barrick posts Q1 record net income with increased production, sales - Regional

Canadian miner Barrick Gold (NYSE: ABX) posted record net income of US$758mn for the first quarter of 2010, up 104% from US$371mn year-on-year due to increased production and sales along with lower cash costs, the company said in its Q1 financial and operating results.

Barrick, the world's largest gold producer, said revenue rose 44% to US$2.56bn compared to US$1.78bn in 1Q09.
