* Domestic market drives foundry's performance in Q1 - Brazil
Brazilian foundry industry output increased 43.5% to 711,587t in Q1 compared to the same period last year as a result of an improvement in domestic demand, according to foundry association Abifa.
"The foundry industry was concerned that demand would slowdown after the government pulled back incentives given to the automotive sector, but that negative impact did not happen," Abifa's iron commission director Wilson de Francisco said during a meeting with journalists in São Paulo.
