Global Warm Temperatures Break Record in May
The combined global land and ocean surface temperature in May 2010 was the warmest on record, at 0.69 degrees Celsius (1.24 degrees Fahrenheit) above the twentieth century average, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. While some areas, such as western North America and Western Europe, were unusually cool, areas such as Yunnan province in China and Ontario in Canada were unusually warm.
