* MOPT awaiting approval of 50% of budget to repair bridges - Costa Rica

Costa Rica's public works and transport ministry (MOPT) is waiting for approval of almost half of the resources needed to repair, replace or carry out maintenance on some of the country's bridges, local paper La Nación reported.

The total budget needed to carry out these works is US$77.7mn, MOPT said in a press conference this week. Of that amount, national government is providing US$37.6mn.
