Take it easy in downtown
Movies On The Block, Providence’s outdoor movie theater event, will feature the 1969 cult classic “Easy Rider” Thursday. By looking at societal issues and tensions through the lens of a camera, this story of an American road trip to freedom takes a surprising twist to reach its climax. At the boiling point, the melting pot of 1960 counterculture spills over. Confusion and discovery ensues. Share the angst and adventure with fellow neighbors and friends at Grant’s Block, where the movie will be shown on a wide screen. Bring blankets, chairs and food. Beverages and grilled treats are available at Tazza Caffé.

LOCATION: Corner of Union and Westminster streets, Providence. Thursday, July 8, dusk. Free and open to the public.
